As they say, “Behind every woman’s success, there is always herself”. With this ideation of making women financially independent and having the experience of work and success, the Project Roshni was initiated.
Our Story
Our Story
The project aims at empowering women and making them financially independent. It helps the women of rural part of Delhi to not only earn a livelihood but also the sense of accomplishment, confidence to step outside of their houses and do something for them and their families as well. Under Project Roshni we aim to drive out the darkness of women unemployment by handcrafting candles with the help of the women of the Satya Slum.
Initially, scented tealight candles were made but now we’ve the wide ranges of varieties. Jar candles with Soy wax and Gel wax, Bubble candles, Cup candles and Shot glass candles. About a year ago, this project was started with few ladies and now it has a number of ladies employed in it. The project also seen a huge jump in its sales over the years. Project Roshni is looking to expand its reach with other communities as well.
